Meet the Purrfessional behind the Pampurring!
Hi! I’m so glad you’re here. My journey with cats started long before I held a pair of clippers—back when I was just a kid with a big love for felines and a reputation as the “cat person” in my circle. At 16, I began working hands-on with cats in the rescue world, and I’ve been deeply involved in that space ever since. I’ve always known I wanted to work with cats in some way, and I finally found the purrfect path through this career I’ve built. In August 2023, I opened The Pampurred Kitty right from my home—a calm, cat-only grooming space designed to make kitties feel safe, soothed, and truly pampurred. I’m also a Certified Feline Master Groomer through the National Cat Groomers Institute of America, which means I’ve been trained in specialized, cat-specific techniques that help me care for your feline friend in the safest, most comfortable way possible. I’ve truly dedicated my life to serving cats—whether it’s helping owners with grooming challenges or just making a nervous kitty feel at ease on my table. This isn’t just my job—it’s my passion, and it’s an absolute honor to be your groomer.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Yes! Contrary to the myth that cats groom themselves, all cats benefit from professional grooming. Regular consistent grooming prevents matts, reduces shedding and hairballs, reduces allergens in the home, and keeps their skin and coat healthy, which contributes to their overall health, resulting in a happier cat and a happier owner too!
-
Ideally, most cats should be groomed every 6 to 8 weeks. Upon assessment, I will recommend the best schedule for your cat.
-
Knots and tangles - what groomers usually refer to as matts - are usually caused by a buildup of natural oils (or grease) on your cat’s skin and coat. When your cat sheds, the dead undercoat gets trapped in that greasy layer instead of falling away like it should. This trapped fur clumps together with the healthy fur, forming tangles, that turn into knots, which then become matts. Regular bathing is the ONLY way to remove the excess grease, preventing all these issues from happening.
-
I do groom aggressive cats, but it all depends on the level of aggression. I always welcome cats of any temperament in my salon. If I deem the cat is too aggressive to be safely handled, I will discuss other grooming options with you.
-
You are more than welcome to join us during the initial assessment! That’s when we’ll chat about your cats grooming needs, go over what to expect, and I’ll happily answer any questions you have. After that, I’ve found that most cats do best when I work one-on-one with them. They tend to be calmer and more cooperative without their humans in the room, kind of like how kids act differently when moms not around! It also helps me better understand their natural temperament, which makes for a smoother and safer experience overall. That being said, I always want you and your kitty to feel comfortable, so we will do whatever works best for your cat.
-
Usually a groom takes anywhere between 45-90 minutes. I will let you know how long your specific cats appointment will be during assessment.
-
No, not unless we’ve specifically discussed it ahead of time. For first visits, I always prefer to see your cat unmedicated so I can properly assess their natural behavior and needs. Most cats, even the spicy ones, don’t need sedation - they just need regular, gentle exposure to grooming to build trust and tolerance over time. Sedatives are only considered as a last resort, and only after we’ve talked and your vet agrees. If sedation is recommended, it’s usually due to extreme stress, not aggression. With patience and consistency, most cats can learn to cope well with grooming.
-
As early as possible! Ideally, kittens should start coming in between 6 to 8 weeks old. Starting young and sticking to a regular grooming schedule every 4 to 6 weeks helps them get comfortable with the process early on. The more exposure they have while they’re still young, the more confident and relaxed they’ll be as adults. Consistency is key - it sets them up for successful and calm grooming. Don’t wait for the problems to arise before you start grooming your cat. Prevention is crucial to the well-being and comfort of your kitty!

Terms and Conditions
Please read carefully before booking/confirming an appointment.
At The Pampurred Kitty, the groomer has the right to refuse service if deemed necessary for the cat’s wellbeing or for the safety of the groomer. My goal is to groom your cat as efficiently and comfortably as possible, with my priority being the wellness of your cat. If I feel it that your cat is at risk of harming itself, myself, or the stress level is too high, I will discontinue the groom and will call you to pick up your cat. Charges may be eliminated or modified based on this.
Please arrive on time for your appointment. You will be asked to wait in your car if you arrive early for your appointment, I will let you know when to come in. The Pampurred Kitty offers a grace period of 15 minutes post groom with no charge. If you are later than 15 minutes, a kennel fee will begin to accumulate on your invoice. If you are later than 15 minutes past your appointment start time, and I am still able to fit you in, a $20 late fee will be applied.
No-shows will be charged the full price of the groom as indicated at the time of booking. If you need to reschedule, we require that you call or email us no later than 24hrs prior to your appointment. Late cancellations or reschedules are subject to a 50% service fee. We understand that emergencies do happen, and we will be happy to discuss alternatives at time of cancellation/rescheduling.
The groomer holds the right to modify service based on needs of the cat. Nail trims and baths are mandatory for grooms unless previously discussed with you when booking the appointment.
I conduct a flea exam with each and every cat I groom, before I begin grooming. If your cat is found to have fleas, the groom will not be completed until flea treatment is given and cat is free of fleas. Failure to disclose fleas to groomer will result in no groom being completed, as well as the invoice being paid for the appointment in full before being allowed to reschedule. I will not accept the appointment if the cat has fleas, no exceptions. This is only to protect my family, pets, and home from infestation.
Pricing for grooming appointments can vary based on selected groom, condition of coat, temperament of cat, and additional services that the groomer deems necessary for the wellbeing of the cat. Please make sure you have your phone nearby in case I need to call you to discuss a change in pricing during the groom. Failure to get a hold of you will translate to approval to act as I see fit, in the best interest of the cat, and the fee will be added to the invoice.
Emergency grooms do happen, and I offer same-day groom pricing for these appointments. If you need an appointment outside of my usual business hours, please reach out to me directly to discuss.
Matt-removal pricing is subjective to each individual cat, and cannot be accurately assessed without seeing the cat in person. All prices discussed prior to the appointment are an estimate, and the final price will be expected to be paid in full after the groom is complete.
If your cat requires a sedative to be groomed, please ensure they are given their appropriate dose prior to their appointment, so that it has time to take effect. Failure to do so will result in refusal to groom, as well as the fee being paid in full as it constitutes as a missed appointment. The Pampurred Kitty requires proof of prescription to be sent to our email address (a picture of the prescription is sufficient). This is to help keep track of expired medication and date of prescription. It helps us help you! Please DO NOT give your cat catnip at anytime during the same day of the scheduled appointment. Failure to do so will result in a cancellation of the appointment with the fee being paid in full.
Injuries do happen in rare instances. Although I do my absolute best to allow the process to be as seamless as possible, cats, like any animal, cats are unpredictable, and can suddenly move during a groom which can cause them to injure themselves. By agreeing to the terms and conditions, you are releasing The Pampurred Kitty from any and all liability of an injury should it occur. If anything does happen, I will notify you immediately and explain the situation thoroughly. My priority is your cats well-being, always.
If you choose to book/add on a Nail Cap Application service, please note that there is a risk of them coming off at home. This is because some cats absolutely will not tolerate them, and will continuously chew on the caps until they manage to get them off. I have had a handful of cats do this in the past. Please note that a refund will not be given if this does occur.
All arrivals must be placed in a private and secure carrier. Cats without a carrier will not be accepted. Cats from the same household must be in their own private carriers.
Grooming appointments typically take about 45 minutes to an hour long. However, this is subject to change as grooming can be unpredictable. Please estimate the grooming appointment to last anywhere from 1 - 2 hours. If more time is needed, I will give you a call and notify you immediately.
The Pampurred Kitty requires your cat to be vaccinated for the grooming appointment. This is only to help protect your kitty against any diseases/illnesses. I do disinfect between cats, however, similar to a vet setting, I see multiple cats per day and some diseases can be airborne or are resistant to disinfectants. The best protection for your cats health are vaccines. If you cat is unvaccinated, and you still want to proceed with the grooming appointment, you accept full responsibility for your cat’s health and release The Pampurred Kitty from any liability should the kitty contract anything.
The Pampurred Kitty accepts cash and e-transfers as forms of payment.
I am a confident and skilled groomer, and I only ask that we work together to ensure the smoothest experience for everyone involved. I promise you I will treat it like my own fur-baby.
If something you read doesn’t align with your kitty or their needs, please reach out. I am open to discussion and am willing to reasonably accommodate you and your kitty. My priority is to help you and your kitty feel good about grooming.
